According to a TOI report, Keir Starmer was seen trying to woo India along with British Indians during the election campaign. Starmer talked about improving the strained relations between Labour and India and emphasized on a strong partnership with India on forming the government. Although the Labour Party had supported India even during independence, the party’s policy kept changing in between. In 2019, the Labour Party also criticized India for ending the special status of Kashmir. However, now Starmer’s stance seems to be changing a bit. He indicated a change in the party’s stand in favor of Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.

During the election campaign in Britain, Starmer showed his inclination towards India to a great extent.
