Unnao Ganga Water Level: Due to rain and rising water level of Ganga in Unnao, there is a threat of erosion and water logging in the coastal areas of Ganga. At the same time, the administration has also given instructions to set up more posts for rescue and relief at alert mode. ABP News correspondent had a special conversation with SDM Sadar IAS Himanshu Gupta regarding the administration’s preparation for erosion and flood on the banks of Ganga.
SDM Himanshu Gupta said that we are constantly monitoring the situation. We are in constant touch, as you know that the water that comes in the boat from the stream, the water that is released from the canal and barrage etc. We are in constant touch with them. If at any time, in any situation, more water is released, an alert will be issued immediately and we will not only alert the public but as a precautionary measure, all the preparations that we have made, such as the construction of flood posts, we have identified 8 to 10 places in that area.
What did SDM say about the preparations?
SDM said that we will construct flood posts where our administrative officers will be deployed continuously. Apart from this, we have also built a control room in the tehsil. We will continuously monitor the situation by deploying our Lekhpals, our Nayak Tehsildar, Tehsil Dars in the control room for 24 hours.
Contact is being made with the colonies built along the river
SDM told that there should be no erosion of Ganga and houses should not fall because many houses are built near Ganga. Keeping this in mind, how will the people of those houses be alerted so that they do not get caught in the water. Usually during rainy days, when the water level rises here, water enters them. Their geographical condition is such that there is a high possibility of water entering there. The work of establishing contact in all those colonies has been started.
