Rana’s daughter Somaiya Rana told that her father died late on Sunday night at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow. He was suffering from throat cancer for a long time.
He told that Rana will be laid to rest in Lucknow on Monday as per his will. Somaiya told that his family consists of his mother, four sisters and one brother. Munawwar Rana’s poem ‘Maa’, who is counted among the most famous poets of India, has a different place in the world of Urdu literature.
