Maharashtra: Nationalist Congress Party (AP) minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who broke away from the party, claimed on Saturday (February 3) that he had resigned from the Maharashtra cabinet on November 16, but had kept this fact a secret. Chhagan Bhujbal addressed a huge OBC Elgar rally in Ahmednagar.
During this, Chhagan Bhujbal said that he had submitted his resignation from the post of Food and Civil Supplies Minister to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde two months ago on November 16. When protests were at their peak in various parts of the state on the Maratha reservation issue, he thought it better to remain silent on it.
CM-Deputy CM made this request
Chhagan Bhujbal said that he had gone for a scheduled public rally the next day i.e. on 17 November, and on 18 November, CM Eknath Shinde had called him along with both Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar to discuss the matter. In that meeting, the CM and both the Deputy CMs requested him to withdraw his resignation, as it could create political complications and possible law and order issues in the state.
‘Planning to leave MLA post’
Bhujbal said that his resignation letter is still with Shinde, but now he is planning to step down as MLA from Yeola (Nashik) in the interest of the society and for the larger objective of ensuring justice to OBCs. This revelation came after Shivba outfit president Manoj Jarange-Patil took an aggressive stance regarding the proposed Maratha reservation following the six-month-long agitation, which ended on January 27 but could resume from February 10. Is. Bhujbal also took a dig at the ruling Mahayuti government and Jarange-Patil in the rally on Saturday (February 4). He reiterated that he will not allow any injustice in the matter of OBC quota to fulfill the demand of reservation for Marathas.
‘Bhujbal’s resignation was not accepted’
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that the resignation of senior Other Backward Class (OBC) leader and state cabinet minister Chhagan Bhujbal has not been accepted. Fadnavis told the media late on Saturday (February 3) that only Chief Minister Eknath Shinde would be able to give clarification on this. Maharashtra government minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Saturday revealed that he had resigned from the state cabinet on November 16 last year. He has accused his own government of giving backdoor reservation to the Maratha community in the OBC quota.
Sanjay Raut told useless things
Bhujbal said that he remained silent for more than two months because the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister had asked him not to speak about it. Fadnavis told the media, “The Chief Minister will be able to give clarification on this, but all I can say right now is that neither I nor the Chief Minister has accepted Bhujbal’s resignation.” Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader and MP Sanjay Raut termed Bhujbal’s revelation as “useless talk”. He had tendered his resignation from the state cabinet in November last year.
Sanjay Raut said, “It is being said that (Deputy Chief Minister) Devendra Fadnavis is behind Bhujbal’s anger against running the Maratha reservation movement through (activist) Manoj Jarange. Both are in collusion. I will resign but you You will not accept this or you will resign but we will not accept this.” Rajya Sabha member asked whether the Chief Minister has the right to accept Bhujbal’s resignation. Eknath Shinde Is it with him or with Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis.
Manoj Jarange denied the allegations of physical strength
He said, “Our view is that all communities should get their rights, but not at the cost of encroaching on the rights of others.” Manoj Jarange on Sunday (February 4) said that Bhujbal was trying to “harm” Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Fadnavis with his statements about Maratha reservation. While talking to the media in Jalna’s Antarwali Sarti village, Jarange also rejected Bhujbal’s allegations that tampering and fake records were being used to provide reservation to the Maratha community.
‘Will fight till the end for OBC’
Bhujbal on Saturday reiterated that he was not against giving reservation to the Maratha community, but was against sharing the existing OBC quota. He is a member of the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party. The senior OBC leader said, “There is no need for dismissal. I have tendered my resignation. I will fight for OBCs till the end.”
