New Delhi: Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda are ready for their upcoming romantic comedy ‘Family Star’. Given the title, audiences assumed that the film would be a family love story. However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had objected to the use of profanity in the Vijay-Mrunal Telugu romance before its release.

The film received a U/A certificate at the CBFC screening in Hyderabad. Additionally, some of the profanity used in the romantic comedy was muted by the censor board. The sequences featuring the United States background were those where offensive language was used the most.
The censor recommended that the makers of ‘Family Star’ should reduce the swearing in the film to make it family friendly.
Vijay-Mrunal’s film got certification on 2 April 2024 has gone viral on social media. It states that this will take approximately two hours, forty-three minutes and twenty seconds. Five profanity words and excessive use of alcohol labels in one song have been attributed to five cuts.

Vijay had shared the trailer of ‘Family Star’ and tweeted, “This summer. In just one week – celebrate, laugh, be happy, relive and have a great time in theatres.”
In the film, Vijay and Mrunal play lovers who go through a variety of conflicting emotions while trying to understand each other’s feelings.
The romantic comedy stars Vasuki, Abhinay, Ravi Babu, Vennela Kishore and Rohini Hattangadi in lead roles.
‘Family Star’ directed by Parashuram will release on April 5, 2024.
