New Delhi: Parasuram Petla’s film ‘Family Star’ starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur was released in theaters on April 5. According to Sacnilk.com, the film grossed approximately ₹9 crore in its first two days at the box office.

The website reports that the film earned ₹5.75 crore on the first day of release and is expected to make ₹3.2 crore on Saturday, taking the total estimated revenue to ₹8.95 crore.
On Saturday, Karimnagar saw the highest occupancy rate for the film at 57.5 percent, while Warangal saw the lowest at 43.5 percent.
A report in Indian Express claims that ‘Family Star’ is Vijay’s lowest opening in recent years.
According to the site, all three of his recent films had double-digit opening weekends: Kushi opened at ₹15.25 crore, Liger opened at ₹15.95 crore, and Dear Comrade opened at ₹11.90 crore. Even World Famous Lover, which reportedly earned ₹7 crore, faced criticism even before its premiere. The release of Family Star was delayed due to a halt in manufacturing, which was scheduled for Sankranthi.
Producer Dil Raju takes matters into his own hands
It appears that producer Dil Raju has taken matters into his own hands in an attempt to give Family Star a boost. Videos showing the producer/filmmaker, equipped with a microphone, going to different screens and asking for audience comments are being broadcast on X.
