There was movement of 1080 flights between April and November
According to AAI, there was a movement of 1080 flights at Agatti, the only airport of Lakshadweep, between April and November last year. During the same period in the year 2022, 1482 aircraft were operated from Agatti Airport. A year before this, in 2021, 1202 aircraft took off from Agatti Airport. In 2020 alone, a huge decline was recorded in the travel and tourism industry due to the lockdown due to Corona and it had a bad impact on Lakshadweep as well. The aircraft movement data shows the take off and landing of the flight.

Currently flights fly from Agatti Airport only
At present, only Alliance Air flight operates from Agatti Airport. It transports people from Kochi to Lakshadweep through small planes. At present, direct flights go to Lakshadweep from Kochi only. Big planes cannot land on the small airstrip built at Agatti Airport. Lakshadweep administration is preparing to build a big airport in Minicoy Island so that tourism can be increased in Lakshadweep. Besides this, the armies will also get great help from this.
Cannot go to Lakshadweep without permit
However, before going to Lakshadweep, you will have to make many preparations about 15 days in advance. First of all you will have to apply for a permit. Lakshadweep administration has its office in Willington Island area of Kochi. You can apply for permit from here. The fee for 30 days permit is Rs 300. Apart from this, green tax of Rs 300 also has to be paid. Flight fare from Delhi to Lakshadweep starts from Rs 10,000. The ship fare to Lakshadweep is between Rs 4 to 8 thousand. It takes 14 to 18 hours to reach Lakshadweep from Shiva. There is a shortage of hotels to stay in Lakshadweep, so book in advance. Vegetarian people may face some problems here.
