Indian Housing Sector: The demand for luxury housing projects is showing no sign of slowing down. Mumbai-based Godrej Properties sold around 2000 flats worth Rs 3150 crore as soon as a housing project in Bengaluru was launched. This is the sixth such project in four cities in the last one year in which the developer has succeeded in selling houses worth more than Rs 2000 crore as soon as it was launched.
In a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges, Godrej Properties said that it has sold 2000 homes in the Godrej Woodscapes project in Whitefield-Budigere Cross, Bengaluru for Rs 3150 crore. This is the most successful housing project launch of Godrej Properties in terms of value and sales volume and this is the second project in the last three months in which the company has succeeded in crossing the sales figure of Rs 3000 crore. With the successful launch of Godrej Woodscapes, Godrej Properties has achieved 500 per cent growth in quarter-on-quarter sales in Bengaluru. With this sales figure, the company has achieved the sales target for the financial year 2023-24 in the first quarter itself.
On the successful launch of Godrej Woodscapes, the company’s MD and CEO Gaurav Pandey said, “We are extremely happy with the response the project has received. We thank our customers and stakeholders for their trust and faith in Godrej Properties.” He said, “We will ensure that Godrej Woodscapes provides the best living experience to its residents. South India is a very important region for Godrej Properties and we will further strengthen our presence in the coming times.”
Godrej Woodscapes is the second such housing project in the first quarter of FY 2024-25 in which sales of more than Rs 2000 crore have been done. Also, it is the sixth such project in the last four quarters in which the company has succeeded in selling houses worth more than Rs 2000 crore. At the same time, in today’s session in the stock market, the stock of Godrej Properties has closed at Rs 3301 with a jump of 4.41 percent due to this news.
