With the discontinuation of the Jaguar I-Pace, the brand has only one model for sale with the F-Pace as it plans to bring in an all-new lineup of EVs from 2025

The Jaguar I-Pace, one of the first luxury electric cars to go on sale in India, has been removed from the brand’s website in the country. The last models available for sale from Jaguar India were I-Pace And F Pace And the discontinuation of the former leaves the British carmaker with just one model. The move was an anticipated one as JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is stepping into a new era of mobility with a fully electric offering.
Jaguar I-Pace Discontinued
The Jaguar I-Pace was launched in India in 2021 and was the brand’s first all-electric offering that went on sale. The coupe-styled SUV was priced at over Rs 1.5 lakh. It was priced at Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom) and was a rival to the then Mercedes-Benz. EQC and the Audi e-tron models. While the EQC has been discontinued, the updated e-tron was rebranded as the Q8 e-tron which was launched in the country late last year.

Unlike its rivals, the Jaguar I-Pace did not receive any periodic updates, making it less relevant amid new electric offerings including the BMW iX. Moreover, the electric luxury SUV got caught in the British brand’s transformation strategy as sales of the Jaguar range were struggling globally. The Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) brand was split into four sub-brands – Jaguar, Discovery, Defender and Range Rover – Jaguar will go fully electric from 2025.
The Jaguar I-Pace was already on its way and incidentally, India is one of the first markets to see the model being discontinued. Jaguar is going to introduce its new range of electric cars globally from next year, so the electric offering will be discontinued in other markets as well in the coming months. Jaguar I-Pace Specifications
The Jaguar I-Pace was one of the most exciting electric SUVs to drive when it first arrived in India. Its stunning looks and driving dynamics made it quite appealing, but it wasn’t as spacious or practical as most of its rivals, which limited its appeal to a select few. The electric SUV was powered by a 90 kWh battery pack that promised a range of around 470 kilometres (claimed) on a single charge. The battery pack was powered by two electric motors that produced a combined output of 395 bhp and 696 Nm of peak torque.

Jaguar Future Launch
Jaguar has already announced its upcoming product lineup which includes several newly developed electric vehicles. This includes a new four-seater GT car that will be powered by the Jaguar XF. Porsche TaycanThere will be the Audi e-tron GT and other similar cars, while there will also be an electric luxury SUV along the lines of the Bentley Bentayga. A luxury sedan is also said to be in the works. The new offering will be based on the brand’s JEA platform which is specifically designed for electric propulsion.
