Construction work on Deekshabhoomi ground was stopped
Deekshabhoomi Committee has given a written assurance that the underground parking is being closed immediately. Deekshabhoomi Trust Secretary Rajendra Gawai has given information about this. The construction work that was going on at Deekshabhoomi Ground in Nagpur has been stopped. The followers of Buddhism say that the trust is making a parking here, which is not right.
Deekshabhoomi is the place where Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar took initiation into Buddhism in 1956. On the day of Vijayadashami, lakhs of Buddhist followers from India and abroad reach here. Actually, Deekshabhoomi Trust is building an underground parking here, which is being opposed fiercely. Police reached the spot and tried to stop the protesters by cordoning off the area from all sides, but failed.
Opposition party leaders are continuously opposing this underground parking, in which Prakash Ambedkar is at the forefront. At present there is still a huge crowd on the ground and signs of arson and vandalism are visible. A large number of police forces are deployed.
